Set up and launch
Get a new publication online from scratch — the site set up, the brand applied, a domain wired up, the newsletter and contact form working, and a short walk-through so you know how to keep going on your own.
$150 per hour
- A copy of Project Broadsheet set up for your publication
- Your colors, fonts, and logo in place
- A live site on a free host, with HTTPS
- Your custom domain pointed at it
- Newsletter, contact form, and analytics connected (if you want them)
- A short recorded walk-through so you can pick things up yourself
Move an archive over
Bring years of writing with you. Pull it out of wherever it lives now (Ghost, Substack, WordPress, Medium, somewhere else), turn it into clean plain-text files, carry the images across, and set up redirects so old links still work.
$150 per hour
- Your full archive exported from the old platform
- Articles converted to plain text with tidied-up formatting
- Images brought across with their captions and descriptions
- A map of every old URL to its new home, so links don't break
- A spot-check review to catch anything that came across badly
Custom work
New pages, new kinds of content, a layout that doesn't exist yet, or a change to how something works. We agree on a written scope first, so there are no surprises on either side.
$150 per hour
- A written description of the work and roughly how long it'll take, before anything starts
- The new code delivered on its own branch so you can review before it goes live
- A short note added to your docs explaining what changed
- One follow-up call after it's live, in case anything needs tweaking
Training and advice
A conversation about anything from publishing your first article to running a team, editorial workflow, or a question about the site. Tailored to what you want to get out of it.
$150 per hour
- A 45-minute video call, recorded for you to look back at
- A short list of what we'll cover, based on what you send me beforehand
- Written notes and follow-up links after the call
Every project starts with a short conversation so you can tell me what you're after, and I can tell you roughly how long it'll take. If the work isn't a good fit for me, I'll say so and try to point you somewhere useful.
Every email and reply comes from me, not a team. That sometimes means a day or two to respond, but you always know who you're talking to.
